Trafficked and Abused Daily

Description

An eighteen year old girl Sushila (18)of Sirtiguda village in K. Nuagaon, Kandhamal, Odisha was trafficked to Kerala on February, 2014.


The trafficker was from Kudupia village. He sold the girl as a maid in Kerala where she was beaten and physically abused every day. She was locked up in a room without proper food and she was denied of any contact other than the keeper's family.


The girl's family reported the incident to EFIC@R who somehow contact the girl after a hard work through one of the native networking brother in Kerala. The girl was rescued by the Kerala Police and EFICAR team. The team further coordinated the girls’ returning till she safely reached home. At present EFIC@R rehabilitated the girl and arranged a vocational training for her at Raikia, Odisha.
